Nice post! I think the panic is definitely premature. I agree with 4 out of the 5, but I still have faith in Pronger and Niedermayer.

Extra game is definitely a plus. The extra time to get comfortable with their teammates will certainly help going forward. I don't think fatigue will be an issue, since Canada will blow out the Germans early, making the rest of the game less intense and allowing the fourth liners to play more.

Luongo is the best goalie in Canada. Period. Truthfully, he has been for a while, but Brodeur has still been pretty good and is a legend. Last game was a long overdue changing of the guard. Thankfully it happened in the prelims. I think Luongo will be the difference maker that wins Canada the gold. He could well battle Crosby for tourney MVP if Canada wins gold.

I think Pronger and Niedermayer are going to be fine. Niedermayer still has wheels to spare and with the small rinks, their size and experience are a plus. They didn't stand out to me last game...that was all on Marty.

Sid the Kid vs. Alexander the Great will be the top game in this tournament. Very strong argument for being the best rivalry in sports today given their talent and obvious disdain for each other. For most, the Olympics is really just a platform for a hockey tournament, and this is the ultimate showdown. Can't wait!

USA will get smoked in the finals if they make it, but I think they'll get knocked off by the winner of Finland-Czech. They lucked out against Canada because of Brodeur's poor play, but really haven't shown they can play with the elite. Miller is good, but he won't singlehandedly win the Olympics for his country like Hasek did.
