Episode 24 – LOUD NOISES!!!

For our first official Playoff Podcast, we turn up the intensity a few notches and are pretty much at each other’s throats for most of the show.  You gotta hear it to believe it.  Somehow amidst the fire, we manage to delve into how the Habs lost control of the series so suddenly, who starts in nets for game 4, and who starts on D: O’Byrne, Bergeron, or … Subban?

This one’s a can’t miss if we’ve ever had one…

I am out there (in more ways than one) and you’re welcome. And again thank you for your efforts and energy. If only the Habs had half as much.

Wasn’t planning on commenting anymore on this crappy season that’s why I wished you guys a happy summer last time. I don’t understand the lack of comments on your site because you are both knowledgeable and lots of fun to listen to. I guess Hab fans don’t know you’re out there.

Glad you made nice after all the yelling, which I attribute to loving the Habs and hating this edition
and the management that created it.

One last comment on the 2009-2010 Habs. Top six forwards – three too small to be on the same team. Bottom six forwards – three belong in the AHL. Defensemen – three are too old to be on the same team. Goaltenders – both are unproven at the NHL level and may not really develop into NHL starting goalies. Head couch needs to retire, he too is past his prime. Also need a sharp young GM and scouting staff to turn around our sinking franchise. The Avs, Preds, Kings and the ‘Yotes were crap last year and look at them now. Why can’t the Habs do the same? Because they have to speak french and as a result all the sharp hockey minds are not considered. All the wasted draft picks is just too depressing. Only Subban looks like an NHL prospect. Pacioretty – don’t think so.

As for tonites game, I think the Habs will get creamed and again in DC. It might be the best thing because it will leave no doubt that this team needs a makeover and a different direction. I wonder if Gros Bill left early at the last game and if he’ll bother to show up tonite. I know I wouldn’t.

Have a great summer Eric and I’m pulling for your Kings Pat.

Thanks Dusty. It bugs me that the Habs did indeed have a chance in this series – they still might – but let it slip away. On the other hand, I’ve always maintained, the margin of error is much smaller for this team than for others, because the Habs just don’t have any real difference makers (Forget Ovie or Crosby, they don’t even have a Kopitar, a Carter, or a Keith).
The Habs don’t have anyone who can win a game for them by themselves – and every team needs one of those. Halak / Price come closest – which isn’t saying much, right now.
